Why You Should Consider A Staycation Honeymoon

A large portion of vacation enthusiasts around the world is formed by married couples, nuclear families, and close to the top of the list, newly-weds.

Of course, there is a fancy word for their type of vacation- the honeymoon. Beyond being a fancy word, it is an endearing ritual that many, if not all, newly-weds look forward to.

However, as the world is evolving, especially economically, many have also evolved in that light. Honeymoons are becoming slightly less popular as couples are beginning to be more conscious of the unnecessary extravagance that comes with the signature honeymoon.

Many are beginning to look out for and opt for less precarious alternatives for the sake of their purses. Welcome to the age where everything’s on a budget.

‘Staycation’ is becoming notoriously popular amongst vacationers who have realised that a lot can be saved- time, effort, money, the works- if one focuses on vacationing in one’s immediate locale instead of expending so much to travel to other countries for a good time.

In the same light, honeymooners have also begun to buy into the idea of a staycation honeymoon, even though not so popularly. That is the essence of this article.

If you’re a newly-wed having just come out of the rigour of planning and executing the wedding of your dreams and not ready to plunge into another headache of planning the typical expensive (on all counts) honeymoon, you might need to consider a low-budget option of a staycation honeymoon.

Here is a list of reasons why this might be a great idea for you

  • First, and quite importantly, it does not leave a dent in your finances. In fact, far from it. Remember that you are about to start and build a life together. There’s no need to impress others or each other by the quality or luxury of your honeymoon destination.

  • It offers a great opportunity for you to connect with each other through your immediate environment, instead of a foreign location. You’re spending your lives together in your locale. Why not create the best memories there also?

  • You have the opportunity to explore your local tourism options. You might be surprised at how much your local environment can offer in tourist destinations. It is like an underrated treasure trove.

  • Travel, most times, is not as pretty as it looks from a distance. Stress and anxiety are common emotions often associated with this, such that by the time you get to your dream location, you spend most of the time indoors and forget the memories- hopefully fond- you so wanted to create.

Considering a staycation honeymoon might not only be that saviour from stress and financial anxiety, but it could also be an opportunity to create and live in the moment of fond memories.
