Over time, there has become a need for a Bride to be celebrated, before the wedding day. This is because her friends may not see much of her, and also a day for her to relive the memories of how she lived as a single person.
This, amongst other reasons, is why we embraced the “Bridal Shower” phenomenon.
Planning a bridal shower is as easy as it gets. It also allows for the spontaneity of ideas and themes. But some things must be put in place for a successful event:
The Venue
For obvious reasons, it should be a place where you all can converge.
Private spots are mostly preferred as they are usually a small gathering, so there is no need for a big space. The Bride’s house or any of her friends’ houses, secluded restaurants, gardens, private parks and so on are some of the best options.
The Programme
It is very essential for the smooth sail of any event. It shows that the event has been thought of appropriately. Every process from start to finish has to be planned and properly executed.
And proper timelines have to be allotted.
The Theme
There must be a line of thought that the bride loves, or is kind of addicted to. It might be a movie, a song, an event, a favourite destination, and so on. Adopt any of these and planning the event- from the décor to the dress code and accessories- will be a breeze.
Refreshments
The event is mostly a short one so most usually don’t advocate for heavy meals. Finger foods and drinks will do. But this has to go in line with the thoughts of every participant. We don’t want people getting hungry because they thought they were going to eat a the party. Let messages be clear, so everyone knows what they are expecting, especially if everyone donated for the event.
The Games
To spice things up, we need a few games on the table. Look up some games online or create yours. Popular ones are the Tissue Wedding Dress, Truth or Dare, and so on.
Money
Yes, saved the best for last. The event will not take place without money. In this case, each participating party has to agree on the exact amount to donate. The organizer has to try to create a balance and not impose. And the expenses must be documented appropriately for transparency.
