Top 7 Mistakes Bridesmaids Make

Being a bridesmaid can be so exciting. However, just as any position that requires a lot of responsibility, it can be uneasy. For a bridesmaid-to-be, here are some common mistakes that happen.

Make sure to avoid these mistakes at all cost as they can disrupt your duties and may even have some fatal effects on the marriage procession in the long run.

You Jump Into The Offer

While being asked to be a bridesmaid is an exciting experience, you should think carefully about it.

Beyond all of the glam and fun that comes with it, it'll demand your time and money. Do it only for the right reasons; like the fact that they mean a lot to you. If you have other motives that aren't strong enough, the pressure and demand may break you.

You Don't Listen To The Bride

Remember the day is hers. The pressure that comes with planning the wedding and other ceremonies can tell a lot on your bride. She may become whiny, cry a lot, amongst other things.

On the other hand, she may be a lot quieter. In any case, you should make sure to read between the lines and listen to her requests. You wouldn't want to be another reason for her worries.

You're Not As Resourceful

It's easy to spend beyond the budget when planning a wedding. It is why a bridesmaid would do everything possible to lower rates.

If you're spending a lot more than expected, you'll eventually eat deep into the couple's pockets.

You Think Your Role Ends With The Wedding Ceremony

Having this thought is quite common, especially if you've been working hard. However, it never really ends here. The bride may need help with picking the best pictures for her album, or where to get her wedding dress dry cleaned, etc.

You Forget The Necessities

Necessities like her makeup, shoe and even some minute things like bobby pins can stress everyone. You have to have an extra pair of eyes to look out for even the tiniest of details.

You Do Too Much At The Shower

Making too many speeches, getting drunk or making dry and irritable jokes are some of the things on this list. Even if the motive is to make it a memorable experience, your focus should be on the bride alone.

You Conclude You Can Bring In Extras

Even though you're doing a lot of work, it is only courtesy to ask if you can bring a plus one.

Being a bridesmaid can be very demanding, but the fact that you're putting in all the work for someone you care about is always a rewarding experience.
