Tips On Managing Post-Wedding Stress

Now that your dream of tying the knot has materialised, there is a major pet peeve that you now have to deal with- fatigue. That is, fatigue from all the effort put into making your fairytale a reality. Your guests, friends, and family have seen the fireworks but a majority of them are none the wiser about the humongous effort and magic that had to be wrought in the background.

However the glory, it is definitely not a good look to begin your journey into a marital vista with burnout. You’ll be doing yourself a great service if you watch out for loopholes that will help you scale through the preparation and execution stages of your marriage ceremony in one piece. Here are some notable tips on how you can manage post-wedding stress as efficiently as possible:

Delegate (Don’t take on everything yourself)

Please take note: you cannot do everything. As much as you might be tempted to steer the ship of your ceremony to its beautiful harbour, it is always advisable to delegate some tasks to others.

In reality, it takes focus off you as a perfectionist and a control freak and shows that you hold others in such high regard that you trust them enough to deliver what you have delegated. In one fell swoop, you relieve yourself of avoidable ardour and you gain the trust and confidence of people dedicated to helping your day be a success.

Treat Yourself

This can occur either while you are in the eye of the storm or after the storm has ended (Figuratively speaking). It would help a ton to periodically have some time to yourself where you indulge in some activities that have been an integral part of your journey into adulthood.

Nothing beats a breather that helps you put things in a clearer perspective.

Do Activities with Your Spouse

We cannot emphasise enough the sacred nature of engaging in activities with your spouse. It is a great way to revive the bond that informed your decisions to spend your lives together forever.

Keep in mind that the bustle of wedding preparations can throw you both off and cause you to drift apart even before the journey you had so meticulously planned has begun. Explore activities like scrapbooking your wedding memorabilia or you could enact a workout routine together.

Post-wedding fatigue is a thing, and as couples, you’d do well to avoid it becoming a reality at the beginning of your marital journey.
