Planning an Engagement Party: Basics you need to know

Your sweetheart just proposed and everything is just so rosy and magical. You know just talking to friends over social media and phones is not enough. So why not throw a party?! It’s a great time for everyone to meet and celebrate with you and get to know one another before your wedding day.

If you’re planning to have an engagement party, here are some simple things you need to know:

You have to get a host/hostess
Technically, your family and sometimes the groom’s family can pool resources together to plan your engagement party. However, as times have changed, you and a few of your friends may be the major planners for your engagement party.

Choose the perfect Date
You have to be a little calculative about this. You don’t necessarily have to plan an engagement party two days after he proposed. We advise that you take some months to properly plan it out. Also, your guests should be aware of the party a month early so they can tick off everything on that day off their schedule list.

Choose a Central Location
If every one of your friends and family are more on the island, it won’t be advisable to go all the way to the mainland for the party just because you’re on the mainland. Choosing a location central to everyone gives a lesser chance of excuses from your guests.

Draw up a guest list
It’s best to celebrate with people who are genuinely happy for you. So, when drawing up your guest list, make sure it’s the people who matter you’re inviting to celebrate with you.

Choose a Venue
The venue you pick afterwards is dependent on the number of guests you’re having. The bigger the guests, the bigger the venue and vice-versa.

Make sure to pick the venue at the central location you have set out for your guests as well.

Planning with these basics are a great starter for a perfect engagement party.
