When it comes to wedding centrepieces, there is no reason on earth why you should limit yourself. Once you step out of the flower box, there are numerous options. Let’s face it, flowers are expensive; so not only are non-floral centrepieces unique, they’ll save you some quid too.

Sticks and Twigs

We bet you never thought some old dry twigs could look this beautiful. All you need is some creativity. Hang ornaments and crystals off them, spray-paint them gold or combine them with other accents like feathers.

Fruit

Fruit centrepieces are colourful, eye-catching and on top of everything, tasty. You can use them any way you fancy: in a glass bowl, a tall glass jar or an overflowing Moroccan jug. There will be no waste here because they’ll serve as party favours for your guests when the reception is over. Everyone wins.

Herbs

A wooden box of herbs makes for a nice rustic centrepiece; ideal for garden and barn weddings.

Seashell display

These are awesome for beach weddings. They look awesome in goldfish bowls and glass jars. Use inexpensive (or free) fillers like water, sand, faux pearls, greenery and little candles to finish them off.

Leaves

The far less expensive sisters of flowers can really hold their own as the star of a centrepiece. Lush green leaves in a tall glass vase make a bold statement. You can also borrow a leaf (pun intended) from ancient Greek mythology and use gold leaves for a truly divine centrepiece. Some spray paint will do the trick.

Candles

They’re a well known add-on to florals, but they do a bangin’ job on their own too. For a statement centrepiece, use a bunch of them together. You can also add them to any of the other non-floral centrepieces highlighted in this post
