Planning a wedding can be telling on the pocket for all involved including the bridesmaids. A sum of that comes from hosting the shower for the bride. You want to plan a shower and you're wondering what to budget as you have various things to examine. You will have to consider the following before drawing a budget specific to your situation.

Where To Start?

What type of party would you like to plan? simple, elaborate, or somewhere in-between. Decide what you think is most important to the bride and what is affordable for everyone involved since it's a shared cost.

Elaborate (Venue, Exotic dancers, Balloons, Decorations, and Gifts)

An elaborate bridal shower can cost ₦40,000 to ₦50,000  per person. Food ideas include a catered party or a multi-course luncheon at a country club or a brunch at a restaurant in an elegant hotel.

Activity ideas include getting manicures or pedicures at a spa, having a themed party, or having an outdoor adventure.

Moderate (Venue, Food, Drinks, Transport, Decorations)

With ₦20,000 - ₦25,000 naira per person, you can have a great time having a party in a private room at a mid-range restaurant, followed by an inexpensive activity.

Food ideas include a buffet at a restaurant or a seafood feast. There are non-expensive activities to engage in like escape room or going to a paint-your-own pottery studio.

Simple (Food, Games, Drinks)

One of the easiest ways to cut costs is to reduce the number of invites, the bigger the guest list the more you'll have to spend. The average number of guests for this should range from 10 to 20 people.

If you, a family member, or someone in the wedding party has space, consider hosting the bridal shower at a private residence. This is a great way to avoid paying for an actual venue. You'll also have the freedom to create an event that's as formal or informal as you want. An average of ₦5,000 - ₦10,000 naira per person.

With these in mind, you can start making a checklist. Have in mind that these parties are fun for the bride because she gets to see friends and family, open tons of presents, and be the centre of attention. Focus on making the event enjoyable instead of extravagant.
