Yes, it's about time to talk about the pressures placed on single people to get married; there's one aunty or someone's mother or father that's constantly on your case about marriage. The demands get a lot higher when almost all your friends are either married or engaged. While this can provide mental stress, there are ways to handle this unwanted disturbance:

Wear Your ''Ignore'' Cap

Understand that not everyone will pay attention to your peace of mind. Technically, you're the only person that can give yourself that well-deserved calmness. For this reason, you shouldn't take to heart, certain snide remarks, tricks or questions directed at your relationship status.

Don't Place Pressure on Yourself

The number one rule to handling marriage pressure is not to place this weight on yourself. It's natural to feel left out once in a while, particularly in ways where you feel your friends are '' moving forward.'' If you choose to ignore all of these, you may end up in a relationship with standards lesser than what you would want. Additionally, you're going to place a lot of stress on your mental health. Rather than be in an unfulfilling relationship, take the time to build your self-esteem, breaking your barriers and reaching your goals.

Create Your Boundaries

You would need to create your boundaries especially when these statements or thought processes are affecting you negatively. If your friends or family members are responsible for making these statements, let them understand how you feel. In cases where they are insistent on continuously hurting your feelings, then it's time to steer clear of them. Creating boundaries will help them understand that you're serious about how they portray their projections on you.

Be Clear

Let's face it; being constantly bothered about your marital status or being compared with others can be very disturbing. Rather than laugh or keep quiet, be clear on your perceptions about it. Clarify your position on marriage and how constant t about it can affect you.

Live Free Without Worries

Yes, relationships will happen. You're going to have a happy life when you try not to worry about the fact that you are single. Rather than overthink or daydream your wedding, focus on the great things that life has to offer to you. Of course, you can try out dating platforms, however, make sure that you're comfortable with whoever you settle with.

Just remember, do not let the pressure get to you!
