Congratulations on your wedding! Now, it's time to start creating some awesome memories together. One of these is spending the festivities together for the first time. It can be so overwhelming that it may seem unreal at first. But it is, indeed, a period to remember.

For newlyweds who would like to make lasting recollections of this time, here are some date ideas to try:

A romantic dinner for two

You're probably used to spending the holidays with family and friends. Now, it's time for just the two of you. If you want to do this away from home for a different vibe, make your restaurant bookings well ahead of time especially if you're working on a budget. It's the perfect time to re-ignite your promises to each other, have long conversations and share affection while having a glass of wine.

Host a Party

If you're interested in getting everyone to celebrate with you, the first weekend in the New Year is a great time for it. Unlike before where you have to go to your families, you can invite them over for an intimate house party. It's always an exciting feeling and you get to have your families reunite under your roof.

A Getaway for Two

After all the hustles and bustle for the whole year, it is only right to treat yourselves to a perfect getaway. Depending on your budget, pick a nice place. There are no exceptions to the rules. You can decide to travel, or book a hotel within your area, spend the whole day at a cinema or dance the night away at a club. You can also go to a concert together; you make the rules!

Walk by the Moonlight

Taking a walk under the moonlight is romantic. Spend the first Friday evening of the New Year holding hands and taking a walk. Use this moment to tell your partner how much you're in love with them. Tell yourselves silly stories, walk randomly into somewhere exciting and explore new places.

Get Together with Friends

The best memories are oftentimes shared with friends. Plan a perfect get together with your friends during the first weekend of the year where you can make homemade meals and play board games while reminiscing on the previous year and making plans for awesome months ahead.

Will you try any of these ideas this weekend? It's not too late!
