Planning a wedding in Nigeria has its perks, but some decisions can lead to a lot more downside than you intended.

So, in this article, we have listed some wedding planning checklist you can avoid:

Wedding Programs

Not only would you waste a lot of time, energy and money in compiling and printing the program, but you will also notice that nobody will pay attention to it.

Rather than doing this, have a sit down with your MC and give them a rundown of how you'd like your wedding activities to go.

DIY

Unless you're good with DIY projects, you should work with external parties that specialise in your specific wedding project.

If you decide to do it yourself, there's a chance that you'd be spending a lot more than you expected.

Assigning Seats

Even though this is getting less popular, it's best to be aware to avoid mistakes. Instead of assigning seats, consider allocating tables instead.

For instance, designate a table for family members, another for close friends and so on.

Hiring Too Many Or Too Little Vendors

Planning a wedding requires a lot of research as well. You do not want to get caught up in the web of spidery vendors who have very little to offer but will drain you of your money.

Also, narrow down your immediate plans. It will help you decide the number of vendors perfect for you. Don't forget to work with vendors that are in sync with you. It will make everything a lot easier.

Wedding Favours

Wedding favours are a great way of saying thank you to your guests. However, your expenses may supersede your plans for it. Even though this is not so important (especially because you're paying for almost everything including feeding your guests), you may still want to do it.

In this case, here are a few things to consider:

  • Ask if family or friends can foot the bill.
  • Budget for the smallest gift that will be appreciated.

With all of these in mind, you're shedding a lot of unnecessary things in your checklist. It also translates to saving a lot more money or using the money for something more important.
