Living in Lagos means one thing, hustle. Everything is extremely fast-paced and if you don't catch up you'll be left behind. That doesn't stop love though, it almost always finds us, and if it hasn't then no worries, here are 5 places you can find love in Lagos.

  • Weddings

Asides Jollof, one thing a good wedding ceremony doesn't lack are eligible bachelors and bachelorettes. Put on your most charming smile, even if the food hasn't arrived yet, give compliments and interact, you never know. Hiding in your shell and hoping to be noticed won't help, being there is one thing, making the most out of it is another.

  • Concerts/events

Imagine being at a concert and singing along while your favourite artist is on stage and randomly meeting someone who shares your vibe. Going out increases your chances of meeting people and most importantly, the right person. Your personality and taste would determine the kind of events you should go, concerts, book festivals, food festivals, movie screening etc

  • Hangout spots

It's pretty common for Lagosians to spend the evening and weekend hanging out at cool spots either to relax or avoid traffic. Freedom Park is known to have a great atmosphere for evening hangouts and cool live music with drinks and food. There are other spots like Jazzhole for book lovers, National theatre, Private beach amongst others.

  • Volunteering

It sometimes takes giving to get something special, that's not to say you have to expect something back whenever you give. Being a part of a group of people sacrificing something for a good cause is a wholesome feeling, you meet passionate and genuinely kind people, and finding love from such groups is not uncommon.

  • Religious Gatherings

Church and mosques are perfect places to find love because you get to meet people you share the same beliefs with. Being a part of a community has its advantages in meeting people which can lead to finding love.
