Planning for a destination wedding can be excruciatingly overwhelming when you're underprepared. There's also a lot of tricky sides to it. For instance, a question like who pays for what can easily crop up.

So before deciding to go for your destination wedding, here are some protocols you should be aware of:

#1. Know Before You Go

Yes, it's beautiful to have your dream wedding at a destination of your choice. But, do they have an aversion for alcohol? Are they particular about certain rules, laws or customs?

You also have to consider safety. Is it a place that is safe for weddings? If you're planning to marry at a destination with uncertain weather, check out the best periods to have a wedding there.

You don't want to end up having a bad experience on your best day. So, make sure you cross out any question or uncertainties you may have before deciding.

#2. Send Your Invitation Early

We recommend that you send your invitation 3-4 months before your wedding. It will give your guests enough time to properly plan for your destination.

It means they will save up or set aside expenses that involve travelling and accommodation. Telling them about it 3 weeks before just doesn't cut it.

#3. Make Travel Smooth And Easy

You must get a travel agent that will help guide your guests. Travel agents can help with flights and accommodation. It will also take the load off your back as you won't have to worry about any discrepancies.

Since preparing for a destination wedding can be stressful, try not to let your guests experience the stress as well.

#4. Let Your Guests Know About The Costs

This is a very necessary factor. It may be a little difficult at first, but it makes all the difference.

It will be a bad experience for you and your guests if they are not aware of how much they will have to spend. Be clear on the costs and if there are certain expenses you wish to take on, let them know.

#5. Offer Other Lodging Options

Not everyone can afford a 5-star hotel. Additionally, hotels can be a bit expensive especially if they'll be spending more than one day.

Consider offering them an Airbnb option where they get to even share costs amongst themselves. What's more, is that it is cheaper and can be a lot more comfortable.

Destination weddings can be fun when you're doing it the right way. These etiquettes can help relieve you from several unforeseen circumstances.
